Fade Away

By De Mouse

As a child, I learnt many things,

Passion,

Knowledge,

Beauty,

Serenity,

And at that moment,

For that one moment,

Everything was perfect.

The scenes where time stands still,

One would think that happiness lasts for eternality,

But shaken by the irony of reality,

It falls apart,

Like shattered pieces of glass,

The truth cuts painfully deep.

Yet I know in time,

Scars from wounds,

Tears of grief,

Sweet memories -bittersweet-, like fallen petals,

They fade away.

Many things I care not to understand,

Life is immense,

Yet so fast to end,

Driven to the edge of the wide table,

Where Fate plays its own song,

We dance unknowingly to a waltz ever changing,

Different steps we each trade,

Sometimes it gets harder each day.

Maybe it's to make us see,

How precious it is to live,

The fulfillness of joy and love,

That balances sorrow and death.

But always at the end,

Like a shooting star,

Blazing with its rightful glory,

Leaving a streak of light in its wake,

In time it fades away,

Nothing is firmly cemented on the song of Fate,

In time it fades away,

In time everything fades away.
